Maritsaki has continuously nurtured her artistic passions, finding inspiration in the elegant simplicity of spiral and natural forms. Initially, these inspirations took shape as intricate drawings. Her insatiable curiosity and desire to give life to her creations, have led to the development of these into illuminated three dimensional objects, termed light sculptures.
These pieces, influenced by the traditional aesthetics of Japanese and Chinese paper lanterns, showcase a harmonious blend of form and function. Utilizing materials such as reed, paper, wood and cement, Maritsa brings a contemporary twist to these timeless inspirations, crafting sculptures that not only illuminate spaces but also engage the viewer’s imagination.
